The CatStrand is an exciting, contemporary community and arts centre based in the Glenkens village of New Galloway. The centre provides a comfortable, accessible and state of the art venue located in the geographical heart of Dumfries and Galloway and is ideal for small to medium scale corporate, training and conference events. In addition to presenting a varied programme of high quality arts and community events and exhibitions the CatStrand offers flexible space available to hire.

Since opening in October 2007 the CatStrand has achieved many successes, including Arts & Business Award 2007 for the Arts: Business & Community and the Glasgow Institute of Architects Design Award 2007. The CatStrand has also been named ‘Scotland’s greenest arts venue’ as a result of a number of energy efficient and renewable energy components including a wood pellet boiler which provides the building with underfloor heating.
